From the sole of your foot to the top of your head

sores, not cleansed or bandaged or soothed with oil.

The birth of Jesus Christ was the initial step in your being able to return to God. It was the beginning of the redemptive act that would provide the way for you to go back the same way you have come.
Jesus Is the way.

Jesus is the means of your living the life God intended for you when He made you.
